We are proud to feature Motawi Tileworks tiles. Motawi tiles reflect the classic style and craftsmanship of the early
20th century. They are hand made by skilled artisans in Ann Arbor MI.
The framed tiles shown here are available for
immediate shipment unless indicated otherwise. Framed in stained, Quarter-sawn White Oak, natural Cherry, natural
Maple, or other woods as indicated. By natural, I mean unstained, although I will gladly add stain on request for a modest
additional charge. We stain all our White Oak to maximize the beauty of the grain and the medullary rays, the white
streaks in the grain White Oak is known for. Frames are mortise and tenon construction unless otherwise noted, and all
include hanging hardware.
I use wire as I feel it is much easier to keep your tile hanging straight with wire, as opposed to a keyhole
slot. I hand rub on several coats of a semigloss, oil-based finish and finish with a coat of high quality paste wax. A flat,
non-toxic (food safe) oil finish is available on request at no additional charge.

In addition to the cost of the tile and frame shown, I add a $9.00 charge for USPS Priority Mail to anywhere in the
continental U.S. I don't charge a handling fee. I have been handling your tile all along and will continue to do so,
right up to the time I hand it over to the friendly folks at my local post office, for no additional charge.

Tile size 6" x 6" color Green Salmon, framed in Quartersawn White Oak stained Mission Brown.
This frame features pocket-hole construction and great "rays", light streaks in the grain that
characterize Quarter-Sawn White Oak, the preferred material from the Arts and Crafts era. Overall

Tile size 4" x 8" , color Green Oak, in a natural White, Hard Maple frame. Mortise and tenon construction
with Walnut pegs. The Maple has great grain with interesting "curl" on the edges(check the detail pics).

construction with Walnut pegs. The wood has amazing "rays", it is some of the most highly-figured wood we've found in
